Spring Updates

On March 30th, we partnered with the Malden Pride Coalition to host the Queer Book Swap at Cafe Reynard. Folks either brought in a book to swap with the Malden Pride Coalition’s collection, bought a book from us to swap, or just bought books from us to keep. We love expanding our connections and deepening our relationships with other community organizations in Malden.

On April 4th and April 5th, we had our Spring book sale in the Friends’ book room at the Malden Public Library. We had displays that featured books for Library Week, spring reads, and a variety of books with blue covers. During the public book sale, we partnered with the Malden Fire Department.

May 9th was our Annual Wine Tasting Gala fundraiser in the historic Converse Memorial Building and Art Galleries, which raised over $10,000. We had an amazing turn out! Friends and beyond showed up to support the library while tasting wines and mocktails from Kappy’s Fine Wine and Spirits Rte. 1 Malden as well as light bites and snacks from our finest local establishments.

The theme was Frank Stella and those in attendance, including folks from the Stella family, dressed to impress! We want to thank everyone who bought tickets, donated to the silent auction, and made purchases in support of the library.
