Greetings Friends! Temperatures are dropping and the leaves are changing colors, which means it’ll soon be time to get cozy with a hot beverage and a good book.
Our October meeting is TONIGHT, October 7, 7 - 8 p.m. at the Malden Public Library. We hope to see you there!
We will be talking about our upcoming Fall book sale on October 17 (Friends members only, 6 - 9 p.m.) and 18 (open to the public, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.).

Image description: A picture of bookcases with colorful books. The text reads "Fall Book Sale, October 17 & 18th, Friday Oct 17th 6pm-9pm (For Friends Members Only!), Saturday Oct 18th 10am-2pm (there's a star that says 'Public Sale'), Coffee Donated by Cornucopia While Supplies Last!" The image indicates that you can pay with cash, check, or Venmo. There are logos for the Friends of the Malden Public Library, the Malden Public Library, and Malden police department.
Summer Updates
We had a busy June with pop-ups at the Malden Juneteenth Freedom Celebration and Pride in the Park, and giving out books during the Summer Reading Kick Off & Ice Cream Social. Our Malden Public Library exceeded its goal of 10,000 reading hours with 10,740 hours!

Hanging in the background is a video-game themed banner for this year's Summer Reading program. On the right side, there are two Pride flags hanging from the tent.

In September, we were at the Fairy Houses event at Pine Banks Park, Back-to-School backpack giveaway at Salemwood School, and Hispanic Heritage Festival at Malden City Hall. Check out the new Friends’ tablecloth!
